Getting rid of poverty

A person lives a decent life: doesn’t drink excessively, doesn’t use drugs, loves their spouse, raises their children… Life should be joyful, right? But here's the trouble — it’s like that old tale about grief and misfortune. Gets a job — the company goes bankrupt, no salary, no one to ask… Sells a car — someone sneaks a cursed doll into the deal… Goes to the store — wallet gets stolen… Carries groceries home — the bag rips, everything spills and breaks, gets dirty… Tries to apply for a new job — slips, twists a leg… Crawls back home, rests — and they didn’t wait for him. Whatever he starts — everything collapses due to reasons beyond his control… Or he works tirelessly, and someone else reaps the results… And so it goes, worse and worse, until the despair gets so deep he feels like ending it all.

People say about someone like that — a loser, going through a long streak of bad luck, drowning in poverty… But in truth, poverty has crept in and made itself at home. It sits on his left shoulder, living comfortably… And once it destroys its host, it jumps to someone else — to feast again, until it ruins that person too… Sometimes, such “companions” are deliberately sent out of malice. Even a smart, educated, hardworking person may find it impossible to solve their financial problems — and the reasons can be many.
